Eco-CONSCIOUS Ways to Relieve stress
1. Get Outdoors!
Even if its only 5 minutes, going outdoors can make you feel better. Indoor air pollution is a real problem and with the pandemic forcing everyone to stay inside for school and work, getting outside for a dose of fresh air is essential. Besides, sunlight gives you a little natural vitamin D, helps to lighten your spirits and improve your mood.
2. Donate, Reuse, Recycle
Sometimes, getting rid of some junk around the house can help you de-stress as you declutter and even better, you are helping other people as you prioritize your mental health!
3. Workout Outdoors
Yes, yes I know it’s cold and you don’t want any icicles forming on your face but studies consistently show that getting in physical activity outside is a major stress reliever. This is especially true during the winter months when we’re low on vitamin D from lack of sunlight. You can also try switching up your car-commute routine and bike to work if possible. You’ll get in a workout and cut down on emissions.
4. Eco-Friendly Skincare
There are so many amazing brands of eco friendly skincare and last Christmas I asked for some of these products, and I can tell you they did not disappoint! You could also rely on lotions and scrubs as part of your relaxation experience.
5. Eco-Friendly Scents
Try out organic essential oils! Aromatherapy is becoming increasingly popular, with essential oils like lavender and bergamot leading the pack in terms of popularity and effectiveness. However, the source of these essential oils can make a big difference; make sure you buy from a vendor who extracts and produces these essential oil products sustainably.
The world has changed a lot during these times, and while we have a lot of extra time on our hands, that doesn’t mean we can’t feel stressed out sometimes. Here are some eco conscious ways to de-stress!
